Lucy and Scott’s Autumn Wedding at Delbury Hall

We love an autumn wedding here at Delbury Hall. With the grounds of our estate coloured in rich oranges and red, a real sense of the changing of the seasons, as well as the chance of sunshine, there’s something very special about an October big day. Lucy and Scott married at The Barns at Delbury Hall in October 2023 and filled their day with unique autumnal touches. Making the most of our glorious Shropshire countryside venue, the couple celebrated surrounded by family and friends on a beautifully sunny day. If you’re planning an autumn barn wedding, here’s all the inspiration you need. Photography by Cloud9 Wedding Photography.

The Coach House Barn Ceremony

The autumn light poured into the Coach House Barn, making it a beautiful setting for Lucy and Scott to exchange their vows. It’s a dramatic space, packed with all kinds of period features, from the exposed brick walls to the vaulted ceiling and grand hanging tapestry.

Hanging swags of twinkling fairy lights added a touch of magic to their barn wedding ceremony, while dried flower arrangements in rust, peach and orange brought an autumnal feel.

The Coach House Barn at Delbury Hall can seat up to 100, and Scott and Lucy really made the most of the space. Filling the rustic barn with their closet friends and family, it was a romantic and intimate ceremony filled with personal touches. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

The Autumn Wedding Styling

Lucy and Scott celebrated their October wedding date with a stylish autumn theme throughout. Pumpkins added vibrant colour and character to the outdoor spaces at Delbury Hall, while the groom and his groomsmen wore rust-coloured ties to tap into the theme.

The lower level of our 18th-century Coach House was transformed into an autumnal wonderland for the reception. Each table centrepiece was a carved pumpkin filled with mini sunflowers, dahlias, gerberas and roses, in seasonal shades of orange and yellow. Rust-coloured napkins, dried flower arrangements and hanging decorations made from dried orange slices and pinecones all came together to create a rustic chic vibe for this unique barn wedding.

Lucy’s Autumnal Bridal Style

Lucy nailed boho bridal style in her off-the-shoulder wedding dress. Featuring a deep v-neckline and long puff sleeves with buttoned cuff details, Lucy’s dress had an ethereal vintage feel, which looked right at home at our Shropshire barn venue.

Our bride wore her hair in a half up-do, with loose waves and a simple veil, and completed the look with an oversized bouquet in peach and white. Forget about heels, Lucy wore the coolest bridal trainers under her dress to make sure she could dance the night away!
