The Shrewsbury Cathedral Wedding Ceremony
Sorcha and Ewan exchanged their vows in a traditional church service, set against the gorgeous backdrop of Shrewsbury Cathedral. The church’s huge stained-glass windows, dramatic arches and high ceilings created a real sense of occasion. It was a spectacular setting to say their ‘I do’s in front of family and friends.
Choosing where to hold your wedding ceremony is a big deal, and whether you choose to get married at your local church before heading to The Barns at Delbury Hall to carry on the celebrations or prefer to have your ceremony and reception in one place, we’ve got you covered. We offer three beautiful ceremony spaces for your ‘I do’s – the historic 10th-century St Peter’s Church, just at the end of the Delbury Hall garden, our Coach House Barn, or the romantic outdoor Pergola in our Foxglove Garden.
Sorcha’s Effortless Bridal Style
Sorcha looked effortlessly glamorous in her classic wedding dress. Featuring delicate spaghetti straps, a low back, fitted waistband and fluid A-line skirt, it was the chicest blend of modern minimalism and timeless style. With her hair worn in a relaxed low bun, accessorised with a pearl-embellished detail and simple jewellery, Sorcha looked absolutely incredible.
The Monochrome Reception Styling
Our gorgeous bride and groom made the most of the late spring weather with alfresco drinks in our courtyard. With an elegantly rustic vibe and glorious views across the Shropshire countryside, it was the perfect spot to catch up with their guests over a glass of champagne after the ceremony. Live music from an acoustic guitar and singer added to the welcoming, laid-back feel of the day.
The Coach House Barn was transformed with modern contemporary styling for the couple’s wedding breakfast. Sorcha and Ewan opted for long tables for a more sociable, relaxed dining feel, which looked amazing in our spacious barn. The tables were dressed with eucalyptus and gypsophila runners, while elegant white candles in glass holders added a romantic touch.
We love the statement black napkins, decorated with sprigs of gypsophila, which brought the classic monochrome theme together perfectly. Sorcha and Ewan chose personalised favours for their guests, including fun scratchcards and shots for the toast.
Keeping with the monochrome details, Sorcha and Ewan picked a quirky, tiered white wedding cake decorated with edible pearls. How amazing does it look?!
Pizza and Partying at The Barn
Once the speeches were over, Sorcha, Ewan and their guests headed out to enjoy the last of the May sunshine and explore the gardens at Delbury Hall. There was plenty of time for some cute couple photos, as well as the obligatory confetti toss, before the party got started. Our cool couple served up tasty woodfired pizzas for their evening guests, before heading back to the Coach House Barn to dance the night away under twinkling fairy lights.
